My name is Margie, I am reaching out today to help with expenses for surgery for my little one.
Lily is our 12 year old Lhasa Apso. We got her when she was just a puppy. My brother brought her home not knowing whether our parents would let us keep her because they were very adamant about not having animals in their home. Lily being the runt of the liter was so precious my parents couldn’t say no.
She was a very rambunctious puppy with a loyal heart.
A couple years later I moved out and took her with me and she has been my loyal companion since. By my side through every important part of my life. Even though she came with me when I moved out, every Sunday it’s tradition to take her over to see my parents. The minute we turn down the street to my parents house she starts going crazy in the car and can’t wait to get out!
Getting ready to go for a walk one day, she tripped and hurt her leg. Thinking she may have sprained it we gave her a couple days to rest and see if it would get better. It didn’t. We took her into the vet and she got an X-ray, only to find out that she tore a ligament in her leg with is very similar to a human tearing their ACL. She has been limping for a few days now and not putting pressure on her left rear leg. Our options at this point is for her to have surgery putting a plate in her leg to help give her the ability to move her leg without pain. Or to euthanize her because the pain will become unbearable for her over time. Our vet has given us pain medications for the next 2 weeks to help with her pain.
We then weighed out our options and kept coming back to the conclusion that lily has so much heart and strength to cut her life short because of this injury. She really has the energy of a puppy even though she’s 12 years old. She is our family. Unfortunately the procedure is very costly, and my family and I need a little bit of help to cover the expenses.
We appreciate everyone taking the time to hear our story and hope that we can find a way to help our little lily.
