I buy used laptops cheap and donate them to social agencies and individuals.
In the past few months, I donated 5 laptops and netbooks to:
☛ Garden State Episcopal CDC, Residential Intensive Support Team - 1 laptop, 1 netbook - for use by clients, including cognitive therapy
☛ Student at Hudson County Community College, who also provides Art Therapy at the Self-Help Center of Hudson County - laptop
☛ Single Mom, laptop - to earn extra $ on eBay
☛ Recovering Alcoholic Man, netbook - for job search
I often need to replace power cords and batteries. Sometimes I need to replace a hard drive.
The laptops come without an operating system. I install and configure Mint, a free user-friendly desktop version of Linux, and install Libre Office for Word Processing.
In the past 6 months I spent about $500 of my own money on this hobby.
This Go Fund Me campaign will help me continue to donate laptops to individuals and social agencies in my community who would otherwise be unable to obtain one.
