Con seis meses de embarazo, en los preparativos para recibir al mundo a mi hijo Luciano, presenté una tos incesante, tras varios tratamientos infructuosos, fui diagnosticada con cáncer de pulmón. Aunado a esto, padecí de una trombosis en la pierna izquierda.

Ya gracias a dios traje al mundo a un hijo, bello y saludable, luz de vida y felicidad en estos aciagos momentos, adicionalmente, superé la trombosis, pero aún me queda vencer el obstáculo más difícil que es el cáncer de pulmón.

Estando embarazada recibí tres ciclos de quimioterapia con Carboplatino y Taxol, luego recibimos el resultado de oncología molecular el cual determinó que el cáncer que padezco es del tipo ALK POSITIVO y para tratarlo se sugiere cualquiera de los siguiente medicamentos: Crizotinib, Alectinib o Ceritinib. Cada caja de estos medicamentos para un mes de tratamiento está por el orden de los $7 mil dólares aproximadamente.

Además que no tengo estos recursos, la situación que atraviesa Venezuela, no facilita el acceso a estos medicamentos y debemos traerlos de otros países.

Soy Luisybeth Andrea Rivas Palm con 33 años y soy la mayor de 4 hermanos, felizmente casada y con dos hijos, Luis Gabriel de 11 años y Luciano Augusto que apenas tiene una semana acompañándonos y créanme que no estoy dispuesta a abandonarlos todavía, tengo motivos de sobra y la voluntad para seguir adelante, pero para ello, necesito de tu ayuda, de la ayuda de todos, para poder cubrir el costoso tratamiento que requiero para recuperarme.

Apreciaríamos mucho, además de sus oraciones, cualquier cantidad de dinero que pueda donar, todo suma, para ayudarme en esta batalla por la vida.

In my sixth month of pregnancy, while preparing to receive to this world my son Luciano, I developed an incessant cough, after several unsuccessful treatments, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. In addition to this, I suffered from a thrombosis in my left leg.

Thanks God, Luciano was born beautiful and healthy, light of my life and source of great joy in these trials. I was able to overcome the thrombosis, but I still face the most difficult obstacle that is lung cancer.

Being pregnant I received three cycles of chemotherapy with Carboplatin and Taxol, then the molecular oncology revealed that the cancer I suffer is from the ALK POSITIVE type and to treat it, I have been prescribed: Crizotinib, Alectinib or Ceritinib. Each box of these medications for a month of treatment is in the order of seven thousand ($7,000) American dollars approximately.

Not only does my family not have the funds, but the current situation in Venezuela means that the medicine is not available and must be brought from another country.

I am Luisybeth Andrea Rivas Palm, I am 33 years old and I am the eldest of 4 siblings.  I am happily married and with two children, Luis Gabriel 11 years old and Luciano Augusto, who has barely been with us for a week and I am not ready or willing to leave them yet. There is a path forward, but for this, I need your help, the help of all, to cover the costly treatment I need to recover.
