Hassan's Kidney Battle
Donation protected
My name is Hassan Shaukat, and I was born with a life threatening disease called polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and is something I have been battling for some time now.
Dialysis On the Horizon - Hopefully A Transplant
We recently had a doctor's appointment, and my nephrologist informed us that we need to begin making preparations for dialysis as my kidney function is rapidly decreasing (near end stage kidney failure). We thought we had more time, but it's coming sooner than we had anticipated.
Within the next 3-6 months I'll need to start dialysis (a method in which the blood is filtered through the help of an external machine).
There are numerous costs associated with the various doctors I need to see, surgical procedures to prepare for dialysis, conducting dialysis and when we're able to -- getting a kidney transplant (and all of post transplant expenses).
One of our goals is to find a living donor, so your generous donation would also help with the costs associated with supporting someone giving the gift of life.
Anything that is not absolutely needed or used will be donated to the PKD Foundation (https://pkdcure.org/).
We are committed to do everything in our power to find a cure for this disease for the future generation.
Thank you for your support and love! And we would greatly appreciate if you could also help us in sharing our message in finding a living donor and raising funds to help us through these tough times.
God bless,
Hassan
A Little About Me
My name is Hassan Shaukat, and I was born in the 80’s – one of the greatest decades of all time! The music was great, the movies were iconic, and most importantly, Nintendo hit the streets! I'm 34 years old, grew up and stayed in the DC area, went to UMD College Park (go Terps!), in the tech world and loving life! I have an absolutely amazing, stunning and loving wife, and a sweet, caring and tenacious little 3 year old baby girl.
