THE SHORT VERSION
Donate to sponsor a game that will be sent in your name to a youth organization or library somewhere in the United States. You will be directly helping our family during a rough time and making fun tabletop games available where they can spread more joy! Game sponsorship starts at $20 and goes up to $50.
THE LONGER VERSION
I'm Jamie—a father, a writer, and a game designer. The last couple of years have been a bit rough on our family. In early 2016, my daughter Liz was diagnosed with leukemia and our lives were upheaved. I'm really happy to report that she is in remission and her health is improved, and in fact she is starting college classes in a matter of weeks. But ...
(There's always a but, isn't there?) There has been a ripple effect from the nearly full year I wasn't able to really work combined with some additional surprises. Two teenagers in our household needed emergency dental procedures within the month of November.
To top it off, I have surgery coming up in January 2018. While not too serious, it's important—abdominal hernia repair. I had a corrective procedure for this problem over fifteen years ago, but the previous surgery failed and now I have to get things shoved back in their proper places.
Our family's currently tapped out. Doing our best, but we've fallen behind. This is the leanest holiday season our family has ever experienced. And we start next year already in debt, behind on bills, and needing to immediately pay insurance deductibles and co-pays related to my surgery.
GAME DONATION!
I run a small-press game publishing business with board, card, and roleplaying games currently in-print. By participating in this fundraiser, you are not only directly helping our family during this time but you are sending our games to places they might do some good!
Each donation level is a sponsorship to send a game that will be sent in your name (or a name you choose) to be donated to a youth organization or library somewhere in the United States. We'll let you know where and when your sponsored game goes out the door, which will happen by the end of February 2018 at the latest. (My goal is to fulfill sooner but with my looming surgery I want to build in some extra time.)
We are very grateful for everyone who's supported our family during these trying times. It's not easy to swallow our pride and ask for help, but love the idea of offering a way to spread our games to more places they might be enjoyed by those who can't easily buy them. HOW TO HELP
Donations of less than $20 are extremely appreciated and will go toward our goal, but won't sponsor a game donation. You do, however, have our deepest thanks. The donation levels below include shipping costs.
$20 - Pantheon Card Game. This card game for ages 12 and up has emerging civilizations calling upon ancient gods, featuring black-and-white art for five pantheons by Lindsay Archer.
$25 - Building An Elder God. A card game of Lovecraftian construction, this game is a race for players to complete a tentacled monster before anyone else—blasting someone else's critter if necessary!
$30 - Metamorphosis Alpha. This 160 softcover book contains everything needed to play the new edition of the world's oldest science fiction roleplaying game. Bizarre mutants explore the dangerous environment of the starship Warden! The rules are easy to learn and require only standard six-sided dice.
$50 - Sojourner Tales. This box combines the fun of cooperative "Choose Your Own Adventure" style storytelling with a competitive family-friendly board game. Use a phone or eReader device to load up a new story each time you play!

Each game donation will include a cover letter that lists the individual or family that sponsored it. After it goes out we'll let you know when and where your gift ended up!

What if we don't make the goal? This is one of those situations where every little bit helps. The goal would cover all of our immediate needs, including paying everything for my upcoming surgery, but any amount raised will improve our situation and reduce our stress.
