Completing Classroom and Salon

Thank you for helping us get one step closer to realizing our vision of returning Dominion to her former glory and creating a maritime museum and learning center. Many work-hours have gone into this phase of the restoration and the classroom build out is going well. Elsewhere, we've gone back in time, with every layer of paint removed. We will be closing down this page for now, but will be back with a new timeline, detailed project lists and updated photos. In the meantime, please follow our progress on Facebook.
Dominion Historical Workboat Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports education and literacy. Our mission provides education, job skills training, and community development activities on a historical maritime platform.
Dominion, originally LT-366, was launched by the Grays Harbor Shipbuilding Company of Hoquiam, WA in May of 1944. She is one of 61 Miki class tugboats originally commissioned by the United States Army during World War II, and is the sole Pacific Northwest built Miki Class Tugboat to survive.
Collaborating with educational and research institutions, community colleges and universities, DWHA will offer advanced maritime training to women pursuing maritime careers, with a focus on employment.
