Dominican Republic international rotation

Hello! My name is Dominique Moreno and I am a third year medical student at VCOM- Auburn. As some of you may know, a passion of mine is outreach service. Throughout my life, I have always sought out opportunities to provide care, love, and benefit to communities less fortunate than mine. During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to visit Quito, Ecuador (twice!) to aid in a clinic and spread the gospel on mission trips. During my second year of medical school, I was blessed to partake in a one week mission trip to El Salvador, where I helped provide medical care to the underserved. Now, I have been accepted for an amazing opportunity in the Dominican Republic! I will be able to complete one of my medical rotations there while focusing on rural primary clinical care. As a third year medical student, I have been working within different specialties at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and have now been given the chance to apply all that I have learned in order to help these patients as well as continue to expand my knowledge and expertise.
With that being said, I am seeking aid in order for me to partake in this new adventure. I will be in Punta Cana from Feb. 22- March 25 of 2019. Traveling and living internationally for a month will be challenging both financially and emotionally. I am ecstatic for this opportunity, yet nervous for the challenges this experience will bring! I am hoping that if you feel the desire to help, you could support my travels and benefit both me and those I will have the opportunity to serve. Whether it be financially, spiritually, or just your well wishes by reaching out- anything helps as I move towards this step in my education and thank you in advance for all those that do reach out!
