As most of you know, Maggie and I were joined with the many others that have lost their homes during the Carr Fire. I can't help but be completely overwhelmed by the amount of love and support that our friends and family are smothering us with. My heart aches for the families that have lost their loved ones to this tragedy. And I pray for the protection of the courageous men and women fighting this fire. The toughest part for us is asking for help during this time. But we need it.
We moved into the home a month and a half ago and spent many long days renovating and cleaning up what the previous tenants had left. The house was located at 4471 Eureka Way, on the corner of HWY 299 and Lower Springs Rd. We moved from Lakehead so that Maggie would be closer to Simpson University to start a nursing program in September.
As we embrace this forced reset on our lives, we are asking for some help. We managed to save our important documents, and a few boxes and other things. We have a place to live when we return from Fortuna but will need some financial assistance to repurchase necessary things (toiletries, clothes, food, etc.). Thank you all, so very much. I love you.
