Jean Denis Sin, 28 years also known as Dou, is a loving son, brother and friend.

We were deeply saddened to learn that Jean Denis was diagnosed with Acute Leukaemia. Unfortunately no treatment is yet available in Mauritius and Singapore will be his only hope to fight for his life. The treatment will cost approximately GBP 200,000. For those in Mauritius, an MCB Ac 000446401005 has been set up by Jean Denis’ God Mother - Mrs. Chook Fah Ng Cheong Hin specially for this cause, if its easier for you guys.

We hereby ask for your kind help, a help from the heart because for us Dou is more than a friend, more than a team mate, Dou is family and We Never Leave Family behind.

PS: Please share this post to all your friends to help support our campaign.

Dear family and friends,

For the past few months, Dou was on an oral medication and was being monitored by his doctor on a fortnightly basis. Dou has been responding positively to his treatment and has been building his strength for the upcoming stem cells transplant.

We had a family conference with his doctors and transplant coordinators last week and we were informed that the doctors have selected a potential donor. However they recommended that Dou stays on his medical treatment for a further couple of months, before fixing a date for the transplant. Dou will stay in Singapore in the meantime as he will still be in monitored on a fortnightly basis by his doctor.

On behalf of Dou and my family, I thank you all for your help, support and prayers. We keep praying for Dou in his journey towards full recovery.

Jean-Luc

Dear families and friends,

Thanks to your prayers and generous contributions, Dou was able to complete the first part of his treatment. His body reacted positively to his chemotherapy sessions and is now in a stable condition. He is recovering and getting his strength back before the bone marrow transplant.

The transplant is planned for February/March and is his only chance of being completely cured. The transplant will cost around SGD 300,000 and Dou will need to stay in Singapore for at least another 6 months.

Thanks to all who contributed to Dou’s treatments so far, in one way or another. We again humbly ask for your generous help to give Dou his chance of being completely cured and to not let all the treatments he received so far go to waste.

Please also keep Dou in your prayers and we hope that he will soon make a full recovery.

Thanks again to you all for helping Dou, we are very grateful for all the solidarity.

From Jean-Luc and family

Update on Dou’s treatment - 27/11:

Dear Family and Friends,

Dou is still under observation after his second round of chemotherapy. It’s been more than two weeks since he completed his second round of chemotherapy and he will have his tests next week, if his blood counts have recovered enough. From there, we will have more information on how he responded to the chemotherapy. Dou is still keeping strong and has been very courageous so far.

In order to give him the best chance of being cured, he will soon need a stem cell transplant. The transplant is expected to be performed between January and March next year and two potential donors have been identified in the US. The transplant will significantly add to the planned costs of his treatment and therefore we will again need your generous help in order to raise the additional funds for the transplant.

Finally, please keep Dou in your prayers everyday so that he has the courage to keep fighting this long battle.

Thank you and please keep on sharing the page.

From Jean-Luc (Dou’s brother) and family.

Dear Family and Friends,

A small update on the Do it for Dou campaign - Dou responded positively to his first round of chemotherapy. Despite having contracted a serious infection and suffering from the harsh side effects of the chemotherapy and antibiotics, he is still courageously fighting on, with the help and prayers of all of you.

We thank you all for your contributions and for spreading the word. Please keep him in your prayers as he will be starting his second round of chemotherapy tomorrow.
