Doing it for the Dads.

Before you all start laughing there is method to my madness: Forever isn't always a long time... Sometimes forever can be a second, a minute or in our case 53years to be exact. I cannot begin to explain the shock our families experienced in not only loosing my dad (Craig) to pancreatic cancer suddenly at the age of 53 but 6months later followed by the loss of Nicks dad (Kevin) to heart disease again at the age of 53 years young. I just don't want another year to pass by and in years to come they all fade into one horrible blur, so I want to do something (every year might be a bit ambitious) every few years in their memory to give something back. Craig sadly passed away only a short 16 weeks after diagnosis. He had been a postie in London for the majority of his life before retraining at the age of 40 to be an electrician in Norwich... A coloured blind electrician I may add. Those few sentences sum up the lovely funny man he was. I would say he was looked after in priscilla bacon Lodge for the last few days of his precious life but in fact we were all looked after by them, they do such fantastic work and deserve the earth, and my family and I will never be able to thank them enough. Kevin sadly passed away after a tough 6 weeks, and very sadly after he was undiagnosed with heart disease. Kevin although I did not get to share time with him for so long was a lovely man, with a kind heart, hard working and loved his family very much... Not to mention that he could wind me up in a second. We must support the valuable research the BHF are doing to stop situations like this from happening and diagnose earlier to give treatment and prevent fatalities. Craig and Kevin are so loved and missed every day by their family and friends. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Elle
