Dog Park Fence Replacement Project

Marysville Dog Owners Group needs your help to secure funds to replace the deteriorating fence at the three-acre Strawberry Fields for Rover Off-Leash Dog Park.
This money will go directly to the park for costs associated with the fence replacement project only.
The city of Marysville, in partnership with M-DOG, has applied for a $5,000 matching grant through the Snohomish County Small Capital Projects Partnership fund. The donations we are seeking through this campaign demonstrate our own community and park users’ commitment to replace the fence with a more resilient, longer-lasting fence.
The names of those who donate a minimum of $30 (the cost of 3 fence posts) will be recognized by name on a plaque or other tribute to be installed at the park.
The city and M-DOG jointly operate and maintain the region’s only off-leash dog park. The off-leash park is very popular for residents of north Snohomish County. The site draws from Marysville, Arlington, Tulalip and as far away as Bellingham and Mount Vernon and Seattle for visitors that need more secure running space inside a protective fence. The park is visited by an estimated 29,000-plus users annually, and free to the public.
The project is designed to replace 190 treated fence system posts that have either failed or are in decline and serve as a safety barrier for the city’s off-leash dog park. Crossing rail boards and new fencing fabric will also be needed to replace damaged fabric, and bottom rails or other means are also wanted to better preserve fence posts and allow for easier removal of tall grass and weeds.
During its stewardship of the park, M-DOG has raised funds via the Poochapalooza Outdoor Dog Festival to add agility course equipment, a small dog area, seating, a kiosk and other amenities enjoyed by visitors and their dogs.
Strawberry Fields for Rover has become one of the community’s and the region’s best assets for people and dogs – please contribute to help keep this park the awesome attraction that it has become, for today, and for future generations.
