Do It For Daron

Donation protected
Mental health affects 1 in 5 Canadians, yet in youth it is disregarded as unimportant. The stigma around mental health has devastating effects, and the campaign to end it is crucial.

Purple Power Month, amonth dedicated to youth mental health sprang from Daron Richardson. Daron was a young girl who lived what society presumed as the perfect life, she committed suicide in 2010. Since the tragedy, Daron's parents decided to transform their very private pain into a public call-to-action and made a decision to support young people who struggle with mental illness. Over the past eight years the Do It For Daron fundraiser has dedicated their efforts to ending the stigma.

Our goal is is to help raise funding for mental health research and the campaign to end the stigma through the DIFD organization.
