My name is Kimberly Hannah and I am a family genealogist and volunteer search angel. I have been assisting adoptees and birth families with the adoption search and reunion process for over five years. A “search angel” is a common term used in the adoption network community and most often unfamiliar to those who have never been involved in an adoption search. Search angels work on a volunteer basis and do not take any monetary contributions or gifts. We are individuals who are passionate about helping others on this complex journey. Many people ask me how I began helping people with adoption searches since I am neither an adoptee nor a birthmother. After my father passed away in 2007, my interest in genealogy became more profound. It was then I was “bit” by the genealogy bug, so-to-speak. Once I started, I could not stop. It was not until I assisted a few adoptees that were distantly related to my husband, did I realize my passion for helping adoptees and birth parents on this journey.  I am truly blessed to be able to help others in this capacity.

The purpose of this page is to try and raise money to buy kits for adoptees and/or birth parents, who due to limited financial means, cannot afford DNA testing.

AncestryDNA is the most common registry used and the price to perform a DNA test is $99.00; however, I am able to purchase kits at a discounted price of $79.00. It is important to me that people who are desperately searching for long lost family have the chance to find their family through DNA despite their financial limitations.

My goal is to purchase as many kits as possible between Valentine’s Day and Christmas. I appreciate your kindness.
