Darrens Fight After Lung Cancer

January 15th was so surreal for our family. Darren and I had to actually take a step back and replay our story from the beginning...just to help us understand how we got where we are today...from going into the hospital in congestive heart failure...to finding out through a PET scan he had non-small cell...terminal...incurable...inoperable..
lung and pericardial heart sac cancer...to a heart surgery where they placed a pericardial window in his heart sac...with chemo being his only option to keep him with me a little longer (one year being the typical survival rate with chemo) When we got home from the hospital.... as most of you know Darren and I decided that death was not an option...we research to find an alternative medicine to keep him alive...and by the grace of God we found a man who had those answers....and it was cannabis oil. Darren had his first chemo...which was horrible! Blisters in his mouth..bloody hands and feet...and blood clots! 4 days after chemo...and a lot of begging from strangers and family to help us financially with this crazy idea... I threw my sick husband in the car...and I drove him 2000 miles to California where he became a legal resident. In doing so we were able to go to a dispensary that had the oil we needed (one day on this oil and Darren's blisters were gone). Not long after...a week or so...Darren became a legal medical marajuana patient in Illinois. This enabled us to complete our journey at home. Now...not knowing if the oil really worked...we continued the 6 aggressive treatments of chemo...with the oil...because I did not want to lose those extra few months with my husband. The oil was a miracle food! All of Darren's blood work was coming back normal...no hair loss...no hospitalizations within those 6 months...and he gained 12 pounds! We began sharing our story for others taking chemo...to help ease their process...not knowing if it would cure any of them just making the quality of life more manageable. So...after 6 long months...and a lot of research and traveling...this scared couple walked into their last PET scan...not knowing if we only had a short time left with one another. Well...the results came in yesterday...and the doctor said Darren was NOT IN REMISSION...he was 100% CANCER FREE!! Now...we are left scratching our heads trying to figure out what to do now. Because I had to quit my job...(so state would help pay for his expensive treatments...which has been overwhelming) ...this has left us with a ton of expenses...that the state did not cover...so we are seeking some assistance. We do understand that we are not alone in this financial burden that cancer leaves on family's and their loved ones. And we are not seeking handouts....but handups... until I am once again employed. But no matter the amount of bills...the payoff was priceless! We are now dedicating a majority of our time helping those who are suffering from this horrible disease. If you struggling or watching a loved one struggle with this horrible disease...please consider cannabis oil as a treatment or potentially a cure...and without waiting until it is too late! I won the lottery...my husband is now completely cancer free!! Mother Nature provided a beautiful gift in this plant...enabling me to keep Darren for years to come!
