This year, The Opelika Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour in Opelika, AL will celebrate the Twenty Fifth year anniversary of conception. Opelika's Northside Historic District is celebrating like it is 1899. For five days in early December ( Dec 5-9, 2018) sixty Victorian and historic homes near downtown Opelika are transformed into colorful nostalgic reminders of Christmas from a simpler, slower paced era. The homes are adorned with lif-size Santas, angels, toys, carousel horses and other Christmas-themed figues as well as Christmas lights, bows and greenery in hugh abundance. Featured in Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens and Southern Lady, The Opelika Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour has been voted one of the Southeast's  top tourism events. The event is a self directed driving tour. However, on Saturday night, December 8, 2018, North 8th and 9th street wil be closed to traffic to encourage visitors, friends, neighbors to stroll through the neighborhood. This enables everyone to leisurely enjoy the homes up close, listen to the carolers and other entertainment, and talk to the residents dressed in Victorian costumes. The tour begins at North 8th street and 2nd Avenue and include over ten city blocks. Admission to this spectacular production is free.

This event is completly manned by volunteers and supported by donations to maintain and create the displays, costumes, lighting, decorations, transportaion set up and removal, and the sound sytems rental for entertainment venues.

We are asking for your support to continue to make The Opelika Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour one of the best Free tourism events in the Southeast for the Christmas season.
