DjangoSphere CD project

Hello friends and music lovers! I am asking for your help to bring my first fully professional CD to fruition at the tender age of 71! In January, after a fabulous week of music making with guitar great, Howard Alden, we went into the studio and recorded 8 sides. We also recorded our final show, and now it is time to collate, mix-down and master our work - requiring a major expense, that your support will help make a reality.

Completing this project will mean the world to this fiddle-playing septuagenarian, but it will also bring YOU some wonderful music!

This CD and fund-raising effort should be completed by Wed., May 16, when DjangoSphere will perform at Berkeley’s Freight and Salvage for a CD release concert, and we plan to send out the CD to all backers in the week thereafter.

But Vancouver and B.C. Supporters should know a similar CD release will take place at Frankie’s Jazz Club on Sun., June 10, with guitarist Paul Pigat taking on the guitar chair. So BC contributors will have receive the CD then, and sent out the following week, or two.

If we are able to raise the full amount or more, I will use any funds over the cost of this recording to continue this ‘DjangoSphere’ project by recording another CD with other musicians of Howard Alden’s quality, starting with Paul Pigat, to expand the reach of these great compositions by Thelonious Sphere Monk and Jean ‘Django’ Reinhardt, the finest and most individual and idiosyncratic of composers.

Finally, the CDs we produce will also help fund the continuation of Point Richmond Jazz, the jazz violin concert series in PointRichmond, CA, and help me start a similar series of Jazz Violin concerts in Vancouver next fall. My gratitude for your support & participation in these projects, all meant to demonstrate the important place of the violin in jazz, cannot ever be fully expressed, except through the music! $1000 or more - download ALL DjangoSphere videos (Tiburon, Piedmont piano, Point Richmond Jazz form years past), demo CD (currently available) and receive a 10 signed hardcopy CDs of Howard Alden with Kit Eakle's DjangoSphere PLUS have the Kit Eakle trio play for your private party or event.
