Diverse Travelers: Travel for ALL!

The travel industry is a multi billion dollar business but unfortunately it caters mostly to a narrow definition of a "traveler". But what about the globetrotters outside those demographics? Where do we go to find information on traveling with unique needs?
Diverse Travelers will be the solution to that.
My goal is to create a website with two main functions: travel-related resources such as blogs and media (film, books, magazines, etc) and a community forum. The forum will have a wide variety of travel categories, from cruises to packing lists to flying with medical equipment. The forum will be free to join and accessible for all.
But although this website will be my passion project I cannot fund the setup by myself. That's why I'm reaching out to you, the community, to help bring this resource to life.
I've partnered with Lottie Reeves , a website designer and fellow plus size adventurer, to create Diverse Travelers. I have personally covered the costs of the domain name, logo design and first year of web hosting. My goal is to raise an additional $2,000 to cover the following costs:
• Website Design & Development that is functional for all users, including those with visual impairments
• Forum software licensing
• Applicable software add-ons
• Website security protection
• Hosting costs beyond the first year
Once the first $1,000 has been raised we can begin working on the Diverse Travelers site as we continue to raise the rest of the funds. The project will take about 6 weeks with another 2-3 weeks of beta testing. It's my hope that we can start the project in mid-summer and have the travel forum up and running by the end of fall.
