Disgusted Dads Funding For Reforms

The Disgusted Dads team needs your help. With proper funding, fathers, their children, families, friends and supporters will have a symbol and a platform representing the common cause of all dads. A brand that supports and drives for every father's rights and privileges.


My name is Edmund Welch and I founded Disgusted Dads in 2014 to offer a support system to fathers who have been isolated and disenfranchised from their children through divorce, break ups, distance or other reasons.  As many fathers have come to know, there are real issues and obstacles in our Family Court systems that perpetuate the problems associated with exercising our rights as parents of our children.

Our mission is to call attention to the practices and policies that inhibit fathers:

·         To tackle one of the toughest and most unrepresented social issues of our time, A Fatherless Society.

·         To engage in meaningful conversations with legislators to bring about family court reform

·         To expose the political and financial influences, along with the gender and racial biases in our Family Courts and Family/Social Services.

·         To unite the number isolated and disenfranchised under a common symbol and cause.

·          To drive for the systematic change that is required to make a difference in the lives of our children, and our society.


Anyone who has had to go through the family court system in order to protect and exercise their parental rights knows that the effort is daunting, to say the least.  It comes at a great expense in time, in money, and in emotional strain.  Many fathers find themselves unable to obtain adequate legal support due to a lack of finances as well as the absence of information on how to find an attorney.  They are unable to find sufficient information on how to maneuver the legal system on their own.  Very often, a severe toll is taken on their job security, on their emotional well-being, and even on their living arrangements, as fighting for their parental rights becomes an overwhelming and lengthy battle.

Our goal for Disgusted Dads is to create a financial, educational and emotional support system for those fathers fighting for parental rights where they can seek advice, gain insight and information, vent their frustrations, and find resources to help them through the maze of the current Family Court system.  We strive to shine a light on this problem, to give visibility to this grossly under-represented segment of our community, and most importantly, to reunify children with their parents.


Our goal is to raise funds through donations to be used for startup and setup costs. With this assistance, we can become a self-sufficient system that can manufacture and produce our own products and media. Thus, we will be able to build an infrastructure of support for disenfranchised dads.  The monies through this campaign will be used for such things as:
·         Recruiting strong advocates of family court reform who can help parents navigate the judicial system in their communities
·         Providing court watchers who have knowledge and experience in local family court systems.  This, in particular, is a service that is not currently available by any organization of this kind
·         Purchasing office space and furnishing, purchasing office equipment (phones, computers, etc.)
·         Acquiring administrative support, both paid and volunteer, for Disgusted Dads
·         Purchase of promotional items like shirts and caps to promote Disgusted Dads, or donations of the equipment needed to produce or own products and media
·         Creating an interactive and informative website to serve as a focal point for parents
·         Marketing efforts to gain recognition for Disgusted Dads as a valuable resource in the fight for parent rights
·         Promotion through events and rallies to raise awareness and gain support for our cause
·         Providing transportation for fathers to attend events and to network with others facing the same issues and to assist in the visitation arrangements and court escorts when needed to facilitate parents being able to spend time with their children

I am passionate about Disgusted Dads because I have and am living through this process of protecting my parental rights and my right to be a part of my children's lives.  Over the past several years, I have met and spoken with thousands of other parents who are also struggling with a system that is, in many cases, broken.  My goal is for widespread reform of the Family Court system, for system to be efficient and transparent, for the reunification of parents with their children, and most importantly, for everyone involved in the process to be held to a level of accountability wherein the best interest of the children are served.
