This campaign is to raise money for people who need parts, services, motorcycles, etc to get back in the wind that just can't afford it and have no where to turn.  No insurance, no financing, no money, but they have such a desire to ride and are turned down everywhere.

If we can be a funding source for them, we can pay for these items and mechanic's time to put them on and they can ride again.

Bikers have long been a very charitable group, raising money for all kinds of causes and to help people.  My brother took part in these all the time, I always admired him for that.

We welcome those who can put on a poker run, fundraiser, etc please feel free to pass that link onto them.  We are also taking donations for mechanic work, metal work, fabrication, parts, motorcycles, trike kits, etc as well.

If you would like to be a recipient of a product, service, bike, etc., please contact us on what you need to ride again and we will see if we can help you out. Hopefully we will raise enough money from this to help many people. You can be listed on the recipient list or be anonymous. We're here to help. Pass it on please!

Now I'm reaching out worldwide to see if we can't do the same for all bikers everywhere.  Any amount would help that you can donate.  If you have a motorcycle you want to list on our site that can be or is modified to suit a rider, let me know, I will list it for free.  If you have a motorcycle you want to donate, be it in whole or needs repairs, etc I'm sure these recipients would appreciate it.

In memory of my brother, Rick Strand, who had a passion for building and modifying motorcycles for people with disabilities.  He passed away in 2012 and left me his company, Freebird Custom Motorcycles to carry on his dream.  It was to get as many people back in the wind as possible, and that is what I have been trying to do.

I decided to focus on disabled motorcycle rider parts and adaptions instead of the full on builds he did.  our website is Disability Motorcycle Aids and we have items on there that will help people to ride again on regular 3 and 2 wheel motorcycles.

If you can do anything, donate time, money, parts, bikes, etc, we will pass it onto someone who can use it.

We are offering 10% off to anyone who belongs to a motorcycle organization or association or for people with disabilities that belong to an organization of any kind, that ride or want to ride motorcycles again. Additional discounts given to bike builders, repair or modifications that work on bikes to get people back on the road as well. Please contact us for details, information on our website at www.disabilitymotorcycleaids.com Please feel free to forward this on as well.

We are also offering a 5% discount to those that do not belong to any affiliation. If you are just having trouble, have a disability or want to help someone who has. Mention Facebook for the discount.

We have a section listing used motorcycles that are handicap/disabled adapted that you can list yours for free on. We get a lot of calls from people who can't afford the items, or a motorcycle but are looking for assistance so we have started a donation fund for those, we may or may not be listing recipients names, some just don't want people to know, you understand.

Let's all work together here, we can do great things!

Disabled from motorcycle accident female rider misses being in the wind!
Donations, Purchases, Beneficiary, Benefactor, Other Beneficiary information requested
Message August 6th 2016 I was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident. My left leg was broken above my knee ( I had a compound fracture of my femur that blew out my knee which had to be rebuilt, I have a difficult time bending their lifting with my left leg) My left arm was broken in five places my wrist was severed off, I lost two and a half inch of bone in my wrist and forearm. My shoulder the compound fracture bone came out through my chest they've been able to pin it back together but I cannot lift my arm more than 90 degrees. They were going to amputate my left arm below the elbow, but have attempted to try and save my arm. I have had 9 surgeries on my arm for on my leg and I still have at least four to six more to go on my arm and wrist area. I have no use of my hand and have no support of my wrist. I've been a nurse for 28 years taking care of other people and my joy, my release and my therapy was riding my motorcycle. I have not been able to work since my accident and I've been fighting for my disability, but the state believes because I have my arm I'm not considered fully disabled although I will never be able to use it or do the job that I was able to do before my accident. I have no income at the moment and can not work because of my diagnosis of severe PTSD and multiple upcoming surgeries of my arm! I've been trying to find a way to get back in the Wind either on two wheels or three wheels, but definitely a modified motorcycle. I cannot pull a clutch so I need a clutch conversion and have a difficult time the lifting the bike because of weakness in my left leg and no ability to use my left arm. I'm looking for any type of help I can get from any resource or suggestions on organizations who may be interested in donating services or in modified motorcycle or trike. I came across your website and was amazed to see so many organizations out there helping those of us with disabilities to be able to continue doing the things we love! I've been an avid Rider since I was 16 years old. And would love to be back in the Wind. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice you may have that would help me get closer to my goal of being back in the Wind.
Thank you for your time Donna Lyn from Central Florida
