Disability aids for Strongwoman Hay

Hi my names hayley and my friends are helping me to raise money for my new sport orthotics. I was born with a gene mutation that resulted in me porducjng defective collagen and proteins cells which affects my organ tissue muscles and joints. I struggle to walk safely without my splints on and then I fall which is hard with my feeding tube and often lands me back as an inpatient at west wales general. I have dysplasia in my pelvis  and cam deformities in both sides of my hips causing extreme pain in my legs as as a result of the pain my legs started to turn inwards and my ankles, knees and hips dislocate without rigid support to keep my legs straight. I started Strongwoman this year after being told I need to strengthen my muscles to help my stability more. After meeting matt diamond in my local gym dw llanelli, (a strongman competitor) he agreed to coach me. I started training and found a natural talent for it and have gone on to place in novice competitions.  My current splints dont fit well, are bulky and break constantly as they aren’t designed for any kind of sport especially weight training and they don’t move in the way I need support so often lead me to fall still. Despite set backs with my feeding tube, hospital stay’s and procedures, I’ve still managed to compete but with such little adaptive/disabled events Im forced into normal competitions that I cant do much in without the correct supports. Yoyo’s the strongman are helping me fundraise but its over £500 just for the consultantation and to have the casts made then its roughly £3,200 a leg for the specific style support I need for both ankles. I wont get an exact number per leg until I have my casts made. Momemtum brace is the best on the market in the uk designed for athletes durable and designed for the type of support I need. Id be grateful for any help towards the cost they will make such a big difference to my life as strongman community has changed my quality of life so much. Big thanks to everyone’s constant support.
