Dinger Derby - Alzherimer Society

The 3rd Dinger Derby for The Alzheimer Society of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington is upon us. After a one-year hiatus, we will once again be hitting monster home runs for the Alzheimer Society. Funds this year will be earmarked for at home support for those with Alzheimer's disease. The Derby will be held on Saturday, September 15th in Bath. We'll start the event at Noon, at the ballpark behind Bath Public School (247 Church St, Bath, ON K0H 1G0). There will be refreshments available (FREE!), prizes to be won, and a BBQ at my house in Bath after the event. Kids are welcome
The Kingston Alzheimer Society provides support for people and their families living with dementia with valuable resources including a drop in center that Dad found very helpful, referrals to the necessary programs, and various other supports and services. In 2016 the event raised over 2200$ between online and in-person donations, which was incredible! We are aiming for 3000$ this year.

For those not in the know, a home run derby is a home run hitting contest where a pitcher throws softly to the hitter. The hitter gets 10 swings that don't result in home runs before his/her round is terminated. The top 4-6 hitters from the first round get to participate in the second and final round. Everyone is welcome, no donation is necessary to compete. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. If you are concerned about embarrassing yourself, don't be; I do it every year!
One last note: GoFundMe takes 3 percent of donations. So if you are going to be attending, please bring cash. We are hoping to have someone from the Alzheimer Society on site to write receipts for tax purposes, and we'll be doing the same for GoFundMe donations this year as well.
