Diane Duncan, our dear family friend of 40 years, and her husband Dennis were displaced when their neighborhood in Paradise burned in the Camp Fire. As everyone knows this fire was unbelievably destructive and moved incredibly fast. Diane & Dennis did not hear about the evacuation until it was almost too late, jumped immediately into their car, and barely escaped with their 2 beloved dogs. They were turned back at the Skyway, and took the alternate Neal Road, with flames closing in on them on both sides of the road, and the heat in the car increasing. They kept driving.

They don't have family that can help them, and their social network is small. Dennis also is has multiple and complex disabilities. Rebuilding from scratch will be a difficult process for them, as it will be for so many survivors of this terrible fire. Diane is a kind and reserved person, a gentle soul that has been our mother's dear friend for decades, and we are so grateful that she and Dennis escaped with their lives.

The money collected in this account will do directly to Diane to help them reestablish themselves. Even the smallest donation will help Diane & Dennis to overcome this tragic event, and is greatly appreciated. Thank you for any support you can give. We know there are many organizations that you can give to, and we appreciate you considering giving directly to one family that needs it.

With love and gratitude, Alison & Natalie (& our mom Marian) on behalf of Diane & Dennis

Diane wants to say Thank You and Happy Thanksgiving. Many of you she has never met, yet you were ready to help in her time of need. She is overwhelmed by your generosity, and we all are very grateful. It is a sweet Thanksgiving for her today, despite the situation.

Also, we have some good news! Diane has found a housing option here in Chico (no easy feat at the moment), and she will use money from the GoFundMe to help pay for some necessary repairs on the new place.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving,
Alison & Natalie
