Diana is our friend and longtime employee of Morrtons. She is one of the kindest, caring people I know, and has offered help even when it meant she would do without, ask anyone that knows her. She’s the kind of friend that drops everything if you need her.
A couple of months ago she was asked by a military friend that was transferred to Hawaii, if she could care for their dog and help get it transported to Hawaii in January, they could not bare to lose him.
Diana never turns down a friend.
On December 4th, for unknown reasons that dog jumped onto the back of her 11 year old niece Nikkie, bitting at her hair and head as Diana’s Mother looked on helpless.
Diana did what any of us would and pulled the dog off telling it no. Something in the dog clicked and it turned and attacked Diana, mauling her and clamping down on her arm and would not let go, she struggled to hold the dog to keep it away from the others while her niece called 911.
Although everything was done medically, her arm could not be saved, and was removed.
Diana had her ailing Mother and young niece to be concerned for and most likely saved a life that day, but it cost her everything.
In A Split Second.....
Diana’s life will forever be changed.
She is still in the Hospital in Medford Oregon and in pretty bad shape. Hospital bills are adding up, and she will not be able to return to her job as it requires both hands.
Diana has been and is the soul provider for her Mother who is living with dementia, which is why Diana worked full time to keep the household going.
Diana has a very long road ahead, we always take a risk when we bring a dog into our home, yet we do it over and over again.
Without our help, Diana will lose her home and truck, she needs our help she will not be able to provide for her Mother let alone herself for some time.
