Diamond Autoworkz crew help funds

Imagine working hard your all life, doing your best every day to provide for your family and community, just to wake up one morning to have it all taken away from you. This is the scenario Blake Hornbacher, owner of Diamomd Auto Workz, found himself in on the morning of September 11, 2017, when his shop was burned to the ground.

When investigators informed Blake that the loss he suffered was not an accident, but someone had set the fire deliberately, he was in disbelief. As he stood watching the smoldering crime scene that had once been his shop, the magnitude of what had happened begin to set in. Not only had he lost his life work, but all of the families who depend on him for their livelihood lost their tools and their income. The collateral damage was devastating. Perhaps the only solace to be found was in that he had faithfully paid his insurance premiums for years. It would be difficult but he knew he had to rebuild, and that's when the next blow came.

NONE of the equipment, tools or the tens of thousands of dollars invested in the build out of the property were going to be covered by his insurance. The details of the "Theft, Vandalism, and Mischievous Acts" clause that excludes Diamond Auto Workz from coverage for this incident are not  the point of this post. All of us would do well to take a closer look at the coverage we believe we have. Although this time it was Blake Hornbacher's misfortune, it could've happened to any of us.

This is where we come in as a community. Many have experienced the generosity and good fortune of being associated with Blake and his crew at Diamond Auto Workz. Others have probably been touched in ways we aren't even aware of. Whether it's through his donations to the D.A.R.E. program, his efforts in behalf of the homeless and underprivileged youth, we all benefit from having people like Blake in our midst.

As Blake and his crew are rebuilding, we can show our support by bringing our business to Diamond Auto Workz. The auto repair, towing and tire services are still available in the lower yard area. If your car is not in need, then please consider donating to the rebuilding effort.

Now is our chance to show that we stand together in the face of adversity and that any criminal act against a member of our community is an act against all of us.
