DHS National Rock Challenge Finals

Donation protected
Durrington High School are proud and excited to announce they will be one of four southern schools and the only West Sussex school to be competing in the national rock challenge finals this year.  This is a fantastic achievement and over a hundred students are representing the school.

Third place in the southern premier competition has ensured them qualification to the national finals competing against four northern schools and a school from Scotland.

Over 300 schools have competed at various heats around the country with their own 8 minute performances on a theme.  This year Durrington High are putting on a performance entitled ‘Angel of Prisons’ about Elizabeth Fry, a prison reformer whose ideas on criminal justice are still practised today – you may know her as the lady on the back of the old £5 notes.

We need your help!  The National Finals are to be held this year in Rotherham and to get the 100 strong team there is a very expensive task!  It will cost over £8,000. (100 students at £80 per head which includes return travel, meals and an overnight stay). We are seeking donations no matter how big or small and will willingly accept your old £5 notes!

Please contact Emily Isham on [email redacted] if you require further details. We thank you in advance for your support, it is greatly appreciated.
