D'faces' Area 53 at Adelaide Fringe

D'faces are campaigning to raise funds for our brilliant young people to take their original work to the world!
Area 53 is an original experiential theatre work created by regional youth in Whyalla SA. The original concept was developed by Lachlan Judd and Adam Oosthuizen as a means to save the industrial town from economic downturn by faking an alien invasion and generating tourism.
Area 53 has now grown into an elaborate narrative that has been performed over in two interconnected shows with lead artists Claire Glenn and Anthony Kelly.
Now D'faces young performers have the huge opportunity to show their work at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival.Thanks to an invitation and support from the Fringe team who experienced Area 53 at the award winning Whyalla UneARTh Festival.
This is a huge opportunity for our brilliant young people to take their original work made right here in Whyalla to an internationally recognised festival.
We do face some significant challenges but we are already committed to making Area 53 @ Fringe a reality for these young artists. Getting our young people to Adelaide, professional artists and building an amazing installation is expensive and we need your help.
Unfortunately due to the timing of this opportunity our usual project grant options are closed so D'faces will already by be drawing heavily on our limited funds and resources. That is where is where you come in!
Your contribution will go directly to Area 53 materials, travel, accomodation and artist's fees. If you want to see regionally produced original work by young people tour to a major festival then lend your support.
