Dez Moorman Football/medical Fund

Donation protected
My name is Angela Brown and I am doing this Go Fund Me page for a student that goes to school with my kids and who is like another son to me.  His name is Dezmond Moorman (aka...Dez).

Dez is a star athlete and senior at TC Roberson High School. Dez has been all over the news for football the past several years with a phenominal record including 772 yards and 10 touchdowns just in 2015.  He is loved by so many that know him.  He is an outstanding student at TC Roberson and has more friends than anyone can count.

As some of you may know, Dez was shot twice a couple of weeks ago while being helpful to a friend by giving him a ride in exchange for gas money. He was shot once in the leg just 2 inches from his femoral artery and the other in his left arm ( he is left handed) shattering the bone.  He has already had to have 1 surgery on his arm and was in a cast for a couple weeks.  He was taken out of the cast this week and staples came out.  The doctors were amazed at the healing that has already taken place, it was more than they anticipated at this point.  Dez will return to the surgeon in 4 weeks to do a follow up on his arm with xrays to see the progress of the healing.  At this time he would continue intense physical therapy or if not healed correctly discuss another surgery to take bone from the hip and add to his arm.  The doctors are expecting Dez to make a complete recovery.  They are saying as of now that he will be out of work and football for atleast  2 months and are hoping at that time he can return.

Dezmond was asked to join a Blue/Grey combine for football early this year in which his first try out he made MVP of the colombine.  The second try out he scored a 4.46 on his 40 and a 9.9 on his broad jump and was a top pick of the combine.  Both try outs he recieved high recognition and awards. Dezmond recieved a letter the day he got out of the hospital stating he was accepted into the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in Jacksonville, FL.  for football which is a combine that over 650 colleges come to watch these athletes in hopes of recruiting them.  This game will be held on January 14, 2017 at the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium.  This game will be live streamed on the Impact Football Network.  Dez was one of 6,750 kids chosen for this amazing opportunity!

Dezmond was working a full time job and at the same time attending high school football practices everyday to better his future when this careless act took place.  He is now out of work and football until released by the doctors.   Dez's goal is to go onto college full time and while there play football.  He has high hopes that one day he will play in the NFL.  He is not only a wonderful student, athlete and friend as mentioned above but he is an outstanding role model for todays youth by mentoring younger kids.

Becasue of this unfortunate careless act, Dez's family has been put into a financial bond.  Without your help Dez will not be able to attend this once in a lifetime event for football to help better his future.  The goal for this fundraiser includes the fees to participate in the Blue/Grey All American Bowl, money for his mother and father to able to go to Jacksonville, FL to see their son accomplish his dream and also a small amount to help with outstanding medical bills.

This go fund me page means a lot to me. This young man has really made a huge impact on me and my family since the day we met 2 years ago.  He is one of the most humble, caring teenagers I have met.  He always has a smile and never fails to make you feel loved.  Just a personal story....my youngest son is 7 and also plays football and has since he was 5.  He has always looked up to Dezmond in football and as a person.  Dez is like his big brother.  There was a game that we attended last year that Dezmond was playing with the high school and  their team was beat pretty badly.  My son always had to meet Dezmond at the locker room to give him a high five.  That night Dezmond was the last one out of the locker room and when he came out he was crying and upset over the loss.  As he came out of the locker room he immediatly saw us and came our way.  The coaches were hollering for Dezmond to hurry up the bus was ready to go...he turned to the coaches and said hold on I have to talk to little man.  Dezmond despite his upset came over to my son and hugged him and said to him no matter what don't ever give up on your dreams!  That meant so much to me as you don't see teenagers especially in that state of mind take their personal time and time away from others to make sure a small child feels loved.  I feel that this go fund me page is just a small token I can show my appreciation and love to this young man.  Dez has a bright future and this All American Bowl is truly just the beginning.  Please help me help him and his family.  Any donation you can give is muchly appreciated!
