Dewey the Persian’s medical bills

Donation protected
Hi friends! As many of you already know, recently Dewey had thrown up sporadically 3 days in a row, and then one day didn’t eat breakfast. We took him to the vet , got x-rays ($426) and he seemed ok, but unclear if it was an obstruction which was making him not want to eat/throw up. He received anti-nausea medicine and was sent home, thinking maybe it was a virus/bug. He happily ate some crunchies when he got home and then for dinner. However, he did not sleep with us all night like he usually does and didn’t even budge for breakfast - crunchies, his favorite food. We were worried. Our second visit to the vet ($461) was when we decided to proceed with a full blood and urine panel to see what else may be going on. We were also given an appetite stimulant as well as a probiotic. Thankfully with that and anti nausea medicine, Dewey began eating again as normal! A few days later we received blood work results. He has evidence of crystals in his urine. In the absence of any urinary signs at home (inappropriate urination, straining to urinate, etc) we can monitor this for now. Vet recommend that we recheck a fresh urine sample in about one month and if there are still crystals present at that time (and depending on how he is feeling) we may have to consider changing him to a diet that prevents urinary crystal formation. Most concerning is that he has a low calcium value and a low blood protein value;  this could be indicating that he has a disease where his intestines are not absorbing materials properly (often times secondary to having inflammation in the intestinal wall). The vet recommended that he have an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate. That appointment is on a Saturday with a specialist. Altogether his bills could be totaling close to $1500 (after specialist), and we are merely asking for support with the bills. These were unexpected expenditures and we don’t have pet insurance, or very much disposable income for this, so here we are. We wanted to do what’s best for Dewey and his health and that is why we’ve moved forward with the expenses so far. This was such a hard decision to make to ask for help but any and all help is very much appreciated, even just spreading the word! We will post an update after we see the specialist this Saturday. After that bill, we may adjust the goal to account for that visit as well. Possible cost for ultrasound is $450 and then $150 for the consult.
We are currently only asking for a portion of the cost so far, mostly for the larger charges of the x-rays and blood work, but especially with the possibility of spending another $600 for the ultrasound visit could use the help and support! Even the smallest donation will be so appreciated. Thank you!
