We lost one of best on Saturday the 12th. DeWayne leaves behind his beautiful wife and his wonderful children. Please consider helping the Purman family with the costs they are incurring during this terrible tragedy as well as expenses that will continue into the future.
DeWayne Purman graced the lives of his family, his friends, and acquaintances – made us smile, made us laugh, and sometimes made us roll our eyes – but left us far too soon. We miss him now, and will miss him forever…
DeWayne Michael Purman was born on August 20, 1966. DeWayne passed away from natural causes on November 12, 2016 in Larimer County.
He was raised in Loveland, Colorado where he graduated from Loveland High School in 1984. He met and later married his best friend, the love of his life, Kari, on October 10, 1997 in Berthoud, Colorado. Over the years, Kari and DeWayne had four children together. Adding the two girls Kari had previously that DeWayne embraced as his own; together they raised all six children. They will always be known as “Kari and DeWayne plus 6.”
More than anything, DeWayne loved and will always love his wife, children and family. Whenever anyone would take a picture of him for Kari, he always asked - “Do I look cute?” He would call her 20 times a day just to tell her he loved her. At the time of his untimely death, DeWayne was in a favorite hunting area in remote Larimer County. Three of his children were with him as he left this earth doing what he loved - chasing deer. DeWayne, his wife and his children all enjoyed hunting together. The children learned many lessons from these adventures, lessons that will make them smarter and tougher for life. He worked for Little Thompson Water District, helping to ensure the safe and effective delivery of fresh water to the Berthoud area, a responsibility he took seriously, and also owned and operated K & D Landscape and Snow Removal Company, a passionate addition to his work life.
