Bullying Book Project - "Don't Cry"

My name is Derrick Lee Mitchell and I'm a self-taught Illustrator, I began drawing at an early age, and my passion for drawing was recognized and encouraged by my mother. My illustrations have graced several book projects: Simply Chubby A Celebration of Life and Hush.

My latest project, "Don't Cry," a story of a young girl who is confronted by a bully on her first day of elementary school, was written to bring extra awareness to bullying.  Bullying has many forms verbal, social, physical, and now, cyber bullying. As a youth in school, I was bullied and felt as if the torment would never end. It is my hope that kids who are afraid to speak up can gain courage and inspiration from reading this book. It is also my prayer that parents and teachers will find this book as a resource to help them not only communicate to victims of bullying, but also to their bullies.

With this said, I need your help to get this amazing project in the hands of schools, boys and girls clubs, under privileged children, etc. The money raised will go towards the marketing and promotion of the book, as well as a donation made to the "Stop Bullying Now Foundation."
