Save Our Rescues From Homelessness

Hello dear reader. My name is Everett Smith but my nickname is Majik. I never thought it would come to this, but this is my reality. At the end of last year I unexpectedly lost my job due to massive layoffs. I loved my job and didn't think I was going to be let go after several years. In fact, I was told my job was safe. It wasn't. To compound the situation my spouse, Stone, had spinal surgery in Dec 2017. After suffering in pain for several months, he had to undergo emergency surgery when he lost all use of his left leg. His recovery time made him unable to work. Unfortunately, he will need more surgery in the future.

I am currently working a part time job that doesn't allow any extra hours. I am actively looking for another job to augment our income. We are short on next months rent and really want to avoid eviction. It would be hard for us (and our two rescues) to have no place to live and have to live on the streets.

It is a humbling and somber thing to have to depend on anyone. However, I have no recourse but to depend on my friends and the kindness of strangers.
