Delmar needs our help
On the evening of 7/10, shortly after returning home from work, Delmar went into sudden cardiac arrest. His partner, Carin did CPR until the paramedics arrived to take him to the hospital where the doctors had to stimulate his heart to keep it pumping.  After spending several days in the ICU hooked up and sedated, he is now awake and without without tubes. The doctors are still running tests to determine why this happened. We are hopeful that he will return home soon to convalesce with Carin as his caregiver but his process and time for recovery are still largely unknown as we find out more. This medical crisis has left Delmar and Carin in dire need of financial help due to impending sizable medical bills and loss of income during recovery.  Please consider helping out.

Delmar and Carin have Blossoms Farm, a biodynamic farm in Corralitos, CA producing herbal medicines from their land and teaching about biodynamics along the way.  Delmar is active in the international biodynamic movement and helps to spread these practices through Blossoms as well as his influence at Suncrest Nursery in Watsonville, where he works.  Delmar is also an accomplished opera singer (he recently stared in La Boeme in Santa Cruz while working a full time job and farming!), father of two, and beloved community member.

Please help ease the stress of this sudden setback, maintain the momentum of Blossoms Farm, and let Carin and Delmar know that you and the community around them care.

Hi all, Carin suggested me link to their Facebook page for folks who would like to see photos and stay up to date with their status. Delmar is home and recovering. They can still use financial help as the bills for the paramedics and ER, ICU, hospital stay and
surgery will be sizeable. Sharing this campaign is greatly appreciated. Here is their page. https://www.facebook.com/blossomsfarmsantacruz/

Hi everyone. It's incredible to see such an outpouring of support! Delmar and Carin are overwhelmingly touched and grateful. Delmar is still at Dominican Hospital anxiously awaiting his return home. The doctors implanted a defibrillator in his heart yesterday morning and now Delmar is recovering from that and getting healthy and stable enough to be released.

Thank you everyone who has donated! Delmar is overwhelmed with all the kind words and support. After days of being disoriented with little short term memory and difficulty distinguishing between dreams and reality Delmar is feeling more clear headed. Today he seemed to be back to his old self, talking about projects on the farm, future dreams and wishing for a beer. He has been moved out of the ICU and is in a regular room at Dominican while the doctors still rule out possible causes. He is strong enough to stand and even got a shower today. Carin has filled his room with photos of the farm and family. It is likely a pacemaker will be installed in a few days and they are hopeful that Delmar will be able to get home to recover there by the end of the week.

From Carin this morning 7/14:
Delmar is still very weak and his heart is inflamed. They still don't know what caused it, if it can't be cured the last option would be a heart transplant. So, I am super positive but things will take time and he will heal but he is confused and has some memory loss and is still in intensive care.
