THIS IS A NEW GoFundMe ACCOUNT! Since we are still in Canada, the funds we received were converted into Canadian dollars. The Canadian dollar is pretty weak, so that wasn't good for the donations we received from the States. If you have already donated, your credit card statement will show that you donated only about 80% of the money you meant to donate. For example, when my brother donated $100, his statement showed that he payed $78. We figured it up, and of the $8941 we received through GoFundMe, (not counting the offline donations I had added to the total), the conversion caused it to be only $7078 US dollars. We contacted GoFundMe, and they have assisted us in changing it to a USD account, so we can get full funding from US donors. The previous donations are finished, though, and because of the conversion, we cannot get the difference back. If you have donated and want to add back the remainder of the money you intended to donate, we would appreciate it SO MUCH! Every dollar gets me closer to the needed treatment in Mexico. I am scheduled to go there May 20. We are trusting God for the money. Thank you so much for your help in getting us there!!

A quick recap for new readers: In 2008, while pregnant with our 5th precious child, I was diagnosed with breast cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes. After our sweet son was born, I had conventional chemo and radiation and was "cancer free" for about 4 years. Unfortunately, my immune system was shot and the cancer returned, this time in my pelvic area bones. I had more radiation and it was at this time we moved to Ontario, Canada, to work as missionaries. I have had excellent care here, but the cancer has also spread to my lungs. I received alternative natural treatments and some further chemo, believing that would help. It did....then it stopped. That brings us up to the present.
After almost 3 years, we believe God is calling us to return to the United States to be closer and more accessible to our family. Our time in Canada has been sweet.....and hard.....and rewarding.....and challenging.....and life-changing. We will never be the same, nor do we want to be. In all this, please know that our faith in Jesus has not wavered. We trust God COMPLETELY. We know our times are in His hands. We do not know what the future holds. We don't know where we are moving to as of yet. Wherever we go and whatever we end up doing, we know that God has not lifted His call on our lives. That is sure. Our most rewarding time here has been getting to know our neighbors and the neighborhood children. We have loved having Bible club and they have heard the Gospel of Jesus many times. We are trusting that those seeds that have been planted will be watered and will grow. Please pray for these precious children and our dear neighbors. We know that wherever we go, God has called us to start more Bible clubs in more neighborhoods. We can hardly wait!!
We are raising funds for a very highly recommended treatment facility in Mexico called Hope4Cancer. I will go there for 3 weeks of intensive treatments, then will return home with home treatments and supplements and follow-ups by local doctors. The needed funding includes the treatments and the air fare to San Diego, California.
We know that this treatment is needed and we very much believe it will give me hope to fight against this relentless cancer. I believe the principle of "many hands make light work" holds true in this financial situation. I am blessed with almost 1,500 Facebook friends. If you can share this to your friends list, this will reach many more people. Just as an example, if 1,000 people were able to give $60, the goal would be met.....which means if 2.000 people could give just $30, the goal would be met, and so on. We know not everyone can give. That is totally fine and we understand. Believe me, we do. We are asking you all, whether you are able to give or not, to stop and pray....for my healing, for wisdom, for my doctors, and for direction for us. The thought of thousands of people stopping to pray for me is worth more than ANY amount of money! Thank you for taking the time to read this and for praying and for giving. We are overwhelmed by God's love and the love and concern of our friends and family. Our hope is not in doctors or treatments, although we are very thankful for the gifts and talents of those doctors and for the amazing science of treatments...... Our hope and our trust lies in our very loving Father, and in His Son, Jesus. He is our Hope and our Peace and our Rock. He is worth trusting and serving....no matter what!
