Help sponsor Deedson's Family

Donation protected
Another natural disaster has devastated the Vixamar family in Port au Prince, Haiti.  Just 18 short months ago, the Vixamar’s only son, Deedson, moved to the United States to live with us in hopes of obtaining the opportunity to go to a University to be able to one day help his family back in Haiti. Deedson was just 14 years old when he left his father, mother, younger sister and Haiti behind.  When Deedson came to the United States, he couldn’t speak any English but absolutely loved the thought of going to school on a regular basis.  When Deedson started school at Holcomb Bridge Middle School, he was in “English as a Second Language” classes but in less than one year, Deedson has become an “A” student at Centennial High School and has been promoted from “ESOL” classes to “On Level” classes through a lot of hard work and dedication to his studies and his family.  Deedson is also an absolutely fantastic soccer player and plays at the highest level of soccer, National League, that the United States has to offer.  He is also very excited to be playing soccer at Centennial High School in the spring.  Although both of these aspects in his life are admirable, Deedson is probably the happiest young man I have every seen in my life.  It is very rare not to see a smile on his face and he cannot wait until the day comes he can help his family back in Haiti.

We are grateful for the opportunity we have to help Deedson obtain his goals but we are also heartbroken we aren’t able to do more for his parents and younger sister in Haiti.  The Vixamar’s were lucky enough to survive Hurricane Mathew but are trying to navigate the initial stages of yet another Hurricane with the images of one of the strongest and most deadly earthquakes in history still fresh in their minds.

We are asking for help to ease some of the hardships. The damage is devastating and the need for aid to help in the upcoming weeks is urgent and imperative. Food, clothing, clean drinking water and medicine are essential and there is a massive shortage.

Support in numbers is our goal.  If you are able, we are requesting a $10.00 donation.  All donations will be directed personally to the Vixamar’s and family in Port au Prince.   Please feel free to forward this to family and friends via email, Facebook, or any other social media outlets you may have.
