Fund students in Theater Ministry

Hi there!  I am Julie Nelson, a theater teacher/director in the Twin Cities Metro area, and I am raising funds for a Theater Ministry Production of THE HIDING PLACE.  I'm directing this show through Twin Cities Homeschoolers for the Arts (TCHA).  I'm committed to using my gifts and talents to glorify the Lord and to teach my students to do the same.  Theater is a great way to shine the light and love of Jesus, to outreach to the community, and to encourage and challenge current believers in their faith while providing wholesome and uplifting entertainment.  We began rehearsals January 28, 2019, and will have 4 performances on April and 5 and 6th at the Rosemount Community Center Auditorium.  We hope to have our Go Fund Me money raised before the show opens!

PLAY SYNOPSIS:  “The Hiding Place” is a true story about the ten Boom family hiding Jews in their home during the Nazi occupation of Holland, and the horrific imprisonment that they faced as a result of this. However, this play does not focus on the dark side of this time in history, but on the Light that came into the darkness. It focuses on the deep and real faith of Corrie Ten Boom and her sister Betsie; on the hope that kept them looking upward; and on the love they experienced from their heavenly Father and shared with all those around them. This play will leave you inspired to also live a life of faith, hope, and love.

BUDGET: Student actors pay a participation fee, and participate in a couple of fundraisers.  We will also get some some money from ticket sales. However, that will only cover about $7,000  of the projected $10,000 needed for all of the costs involved with this production.  This is where we need YOUR help!  Any funds you donate will go to help  pay for: 
1)  Rental space for rehearsals and performances
2)  Sets, costumes, and props
3)  Rental of body microphones and spot lights
4)  Purchase scripts and performance rights
5)  Fees for director, set designer, and tech lead
6)  Advertising and program expenses

This play is filled with God's goodness, faithfulness, spiritual truths, and it exemplifies the importance of having a personal relationship with Christ. Each performance will be followed with a short Gospel message, and an opportunity for audience members to receive Christ. 
Students in the production are also greatly impacted as they are challenged in their faith through the message of the play, allowed an opportunity to use their talents to influence  others for Christ, and their hearts grow as they  pray for the hearts of audience members!  
2)  AN EXCELLENT QUALITY PRODUCTION:  
We won't have to skimp on sets, costumes, lights, rehearsal time, and other things that will make this an excellent quality production. I believe in an excellent God who wants us to strive for excellence in all we do, and I desire the quality of this production to reflect that.   
3)  HELP OUR BUDGET: 
We can keep the student participation fee and ticket pricing affordable, and pay for qualified staffing of the production.
