Jaden’s Journey

Just a couple weeks ago (March 28, 2018), Jaden Durling (15 years old) was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma.  Stage IV Hodgkin Lymphoma is characterized by affecting the lymph nodes both above and below the diaphragm, and cancer cells elsewhere in the body, in a lung, or in the liver or bone. They are still testing to find the full extent of the cancer in Jaden.

Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes. These cells are in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. When you have lymphoma, lymphocytes change and grow out of control. 

We believe God is a miracle worker and combined with the wisdom of doctors, Jaden can make a full recovery! However the immediate road ahead is a difficult one. Jaden will begin chemo next week which includes a 6 month stay in Spokane. After that they will retest to see what if any further treatment is needed. Depending on how well he tolerates it he may be able to travel back home in between rounds.

Jaden’s family is committed to doing everything in their power to help him beat this. The Go Fund Me site has been created to help his mom and dad, Matthew and Lindsy Durling, along with there family with travel expenses and temporary housing expenses.
