Fighting for Luke

Donation protected
Luke is my 9yr old nephew. He is a beautiful, whitty, typical boy. He is football & computer mad and a big brother to 2 siblings. He loves to be out and about, with his friends and lots of cousins and doing the same things that any other 9yr old boy loves to do, but for Luke, day to day this is and has become more and more difficult. His determination and spirit is overshadowed by a terminal illness and the effects of this terrible condition.

Luke has DMD (Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy). This is the most serious form of the condition and is fatal (people with this condition usually live until 20 -30yrs of age). The condition is a muscle wasting condition that occurred because Luke is missing gene's that are normally formed upon conception. The condition is both progressive and aggressive with no cure to date. The condition already effects him massively day to day and his mobility but now it has started to affect the valves within his heart (everything we do and are involves muscles from walking to breathing). He will eventually be fully ventilated once the effect reach the lungs.

He was a normal healthy baby boy, when at aged 3 he was diagnosed with the condition after his Mum & Dad noticed that there were lots of things a little different with Luke. His motor skills, tiredness and Pain he was suffering at his age wasn't normal.

Luke has a range of treatments and a concoction of medications in place to try and slow the effects of this, but this condition is aggressive and doesn't hold back.

Despite suffering daily and having massive restrictions on what he can do, Luke remains a happy, cheeky 9yr old with a love for life, sports and the everyday things which he will always try but often can't do. Simple tasks such as walking up the stairs have and are increasing in difficulty.

I am trying to raise funds to go towards a Wheelchair for Luke that will enable him to retain as much independence as he can, along with any other aids and items that can improve the quality of his life day to day as the condition continues to take away the basic motor skills and abilities from him.

Anything at all you can donate would be MASSIVELY appreciate. Thankyou for taking the time to read this and any donation. Please share ♡
