Fighting Cancer

As many of you know, on August 1, 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer—which had metastasized to my liver and lungs. 

I underwent 6 months of very high chemo, followed by a 9 1/2 hr surgery. They removed the tumor and reconstructed my colon, and also took a large wedge and several smaller ones from the liver and my left ovary. 

I then persisted with treatment via chemo and immunotherapy for 4 years—but neither treatment prevented the growth of new and old tumors. 

With no viable options remaining, I had heard (through some very consistent loved ones) about the benefits of alternative medicine . Though at first I was skeptical, I realized my mortality was at stake—so, I gave it a try! 

I started this alternative treatment on May 1st, and by August 1st, new scans revealed that my cancer had finally shrunk—significantly. 

Unfortunately, this treatment is very expensive—taxed by the city, state, and government—and is not covered by insurance. Even with the gracious help of friends and family, I have exhausted my savings paying for it. I need to do more of this treatment to reach the intended goal—to finally put this cancer to rest.

I have been out of work this whole time and am looking forward to continuing this treatment and returning to work as soon as possible. 

As of today, I am short about $1000. 

If I had it my way, I wouldn’t have to ask for assistance—but my life is on the line, my back is against the wall and I’m swallowing my pride.
