Dawson to NYC for Joffrey's Dance

Dawson is my son. He is a 14-year-old amazingly talented young man who also has a heart of gold. Sure, you could say I'm biased because he's my kid but I would invite you to talk to other teachers and leaders in life. You would find that he really is a great kid.
Dawson has been dancing and loving music as long as any of us can remember. From the day I checked on him taking a nap and watched him tapping his foot to the music while he laid in his crib. Then the day he received a guitar three weeks before his second birthday because he wouldn't let it go in the store. He's always been a performer. When he was in kindergarten, our children's pastor brought in a hip-hop crew to perform in church and Dawson was in awe. From that time on we watched every dance movie, Michael Jackson video, and anything else we could find so he could watch and dance.
Dawson achieved his early dreams of taking lessons from Adrian Almanza, one of the leaders of the hip-hop crew mentioned above. As he got older he was invited to dance with the crew. He is blessed with men in his life who love dance and love him. I am eternally grateful for the influence and encouragement of Adrian Almanza, Nick Stanton, Kris Williams, and Jerod Coleman. Dawson has performed in recitals, charity benefits, local videos, and many street performances. He loves to dance and he loves to make people smile. Dawson will tell you that God has given him these gifts and he wants to use them to His glory.
Dawson now has the opportunity to achieve another dream - to visit and dance in New York City! He has been awarded a scholarship from the renowned dance school - Joffrey's Ballet - to attend their hip-hop intensive in New York City! He is beyond excited about this opportunity but we need your help to get him there.
Tuition cost after the scholarship - $450
8-day hotel stay in New York City - $1800
Round-trip plane tickets for he and I - $800
Food and transportation while in NYC - $1000
Incidentals - $250
We are trying to raise another $2,000 with this GoFundMe page along with cakes sales, t-short sales, and other fundraisers to get all the money.
