Davis Chapel Capital Campaign

Tax deductible
Over the past 75 years, Davis Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal church has experienced many "firsts": the establishment of its own Credit Union; began a community tradition - the "To Thee We Sing" Christmas musical; purchased the first parsonage in the Oakland District; became a founding member of the Greater Richmond Inter-faith Program (GRIP); one of the founders of Christ Ministry (in the Richmond community); helped organize the Annual Pancake Breakfast to assist the blind, and created a Prison Ministry at the West County Jail.
November 27, 2003 (on Thanksgiving Day), the beloved edifice of Davis Chapel burned down, and had to re-locate and share facilities with their sister church, St. Peter C.M.E. Church in El Cerrito. The congregation vowed to rebuild at the site. Through many ups and downs with contractors and other issues, the process is not complete but very close to that finish line.
Davis Chapel has a lot of faith and continues to move forward to reach the finish line and being able to occupy their new facility at the current site at 369 Chesley As you reflect back on the history and heritage, both recorded and verbal, they have not forgotten the role those who came before them played in helping to shape their lives into what they are today. There are many opportunities for ministry and future success at the current location. They can make an impact in the lives of individuals in and around the community of Richmond.
