David's Cancer Fighting Fund

My brother David has recently been diagnosed with lymphoma. It came as quite a shock to him and to his family and friends. He was being treated for bronchitis and when the antibiotics weren't working he went back to the doctor.  This is when they discovered there was a tumor on his heart. The kind of lymphoma that David has is fast growing and aggressive which means they had to start treatments immediately. Within a week he had been diagnosed and given his first round of chemo and sent home. After getting the full pathology report the oncologist informed us that they would need to be more aggressive with his chemo treatments. Between the end of June and the start of September he will be receiving 6 more in hospital chemo treatments. My mom will need to be staying in Toronto with him during this time. David is 27 years old, turning 28 in July. He works 2 jobs. He is a flight attendant for Westjet and is also a waiter. He has benefits with Westjet, however, being a previously perfectly healthy 27 year old, he opted out of the drug plan. Nobody in our family has ever been more grateful for our healthcare system. However, it is not all free. I didn't realize and I'm sure he didn't either that along with the chemo you need lots and lots of prescriptions to take along with it to help it work and also to help with the side effects. My brother, a not even 28 year old living in an apartment in Toronto and working 2 jobs is now receiving 65% of his pay from one of those jobs. He is trying to pay his rent and his bills and for all these drugs that aren't covered and he is unable to work.  He has been more brave and positive than I can even believe.  I remember so vividly getting the call from him. After a few moments of my complete silence he said "are you ok?" AM I OK?????? He just got diagnosed with cancer and he was worried about me?? A few days later he posted a video, sharing with the whole world what was happening to him. In this video he cracks jokes about the hospital food and assures everyone he will beat this. That is exactly what we need him to do. Beat this. That is his job. I so badly want to take this from him. I so badly want to be the one that these doctors are going to make sick in attempt to cure. I want to take his pain away and I want it to be me instead. But, I can't. As badly as I want to and I'm sure many others do as well, this is David's fight (as far as I'm concerned he's kicking a** already!!!!) I can't do this for him but I can (with your help of course) take the stress away where money is concerned. The last thing I want him to be worried about is how he's going to pay his rent next month. Many of you have offered your love and support and have asked me how you could help. Aside from prayers and positive thoughts and your kind words this is the only thing that I could think of to do for him and for my entire family.   If you want to do something and are able to donate to David's cause and help him through this we would all be eternally grateful.   If you can't donate that's fine too - we will gladly accept prayers and positive energy.  Thank  you in advance for all your love and support and getting us through this terrible time. He WILL beat this.
