David's Courageous Battle with Brain Cancer

Donation protected
UPDATE 06-01-2019: A Celebration of LIfe Service was held on June 1st at Trinity Baptist Church with the Pastor John Wheat and Pastor James Ervin officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the Christian Men's Job Corps or Christian Women's Job Corps of Kerrville, TX or to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, Kerrville TX. David valiantly battled CNS Lymphoma, an inoperable brain tumor for 99 days before succumbing to the side effects of aggressive treatment. David fought for his kids, grandbabies he adored and his "child bride" Denise.
David will be remembered for his strong faith, his love for his wife and his family, and living out his beliefs through his business. David and Denise would have been married 40 years on June 22nd. Their marriage served as an example and a role model for a Christian marriage.
When David founded LeMeilleur's RV, Truck & Equipment repair Co, In 1998 he did so with his tools, $1200 and a lifetime of experience, not to add with a lot of prayers! His efforts were recognized in October of 2018 by the Kerrville Area Chamber when his company was inducted into the Kerrville Business Hall of Fame. David was outspoken and unwavering in his faith and political beliefs and his yes was always yes and his no, no.
David was ordained as a deacon while attending First Baptist Church Kerrville and he was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, playing guitar in the praise team. David firmly believed, "If God brought you to it, he would bring you through it," this belief helped him stay strong in the last few months as he battled this illness.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Denise of 39 years, son Bryan & wife Raquelle and their son, Greyson (born on May 14th), Son Keith & wife Kristin Patrick and daughter, Emerson; and son Christopher, wife Lindsay and their sons Ace David and Ryland. David found renewed life being Poppi and Papabear to his grandchildren and he was surrounded by their pictures and love throughout his battle with cancer.  He is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann Broussard and stepfather, Kelly of Basile, LA, his brothers Charles, James and Lew LeMeilleur and sister, Sherry LeMeilleur. Along with his sister's in law, brother's in law, and numerous, nieces and nephews, whom he loved as if they were his own, his Aunt Betty Blackwell and many friends including two special people in his life, Zeke & Roslyn Houghton. David was preceded in death by his father Charles David LeMeilleur and his brother, Richard Brent LeMeilleur.

UPDATE:
Thank you all for you support, prayers, love and encouraging words. David saw Jesus face to face on May 13th. He fought the good fight but this tumor came back with a vengeance. On Easter Sunday he started having seizures and became non responsive. He  was transferred to ICU where he remained. On April 30th it appeared he had beat the tumor, but, he then started having complications and on May 8th when another MRI was performed it showed the tumor was back and was as big or bigger than when he started the process on Feb. 4th.  Throughout the time David has been unresponsive, doctors  continued to try to understand where the seizures were coming from and they got that answer, the MRI revealed that David's brain has sustained a global injury. There was severe degradation across the brain and it's an injury patients don't recover from.
Even if there was an option to wait it out and hope, the tumor was aggressively growing and could not be treated with David in his condition. David said he never wanted to be on a machine or to linger if it looked like there wasn't a way to fix this and unfortunately his brain cells were dying from the radiation. David wanted to take every long shot to beat this thing but also to know when it's over.

We said our goodbyes on Monday and will have a Celebration of Life service June 1st at trinity Baptist Church, Kerrville, TX at 2 pm.

We want to make sure to say THANK YOU to all of you. The prayers, texts and calls, help for Denise, visitors, those sitting with him, and all of the other support have meant more than you can know over the past few months.  We also want to say thank you to the medical team, David's doctors and nurses who fought tooth and nail for him, they truly were amazing.

The days ahead will be difficult for Denise, for the boys and their families and they we will continue to need your prayers and support. We rest in knowing that David went home to be with the Lord.

As David always said through this whole journey, "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it."

For the last eighteen months, our best friends, David and Denise LeMeilleur, have been searching for answers. On January 4, David was tentatively diagnosed with  MS. During the week preceding his birthday, February 3, things began to change rapidly. His falling increased, and it became obvious he could no longer wait to see the MS specialist. At the advice of the Neurologist, he entered St David's Hospital in Austin on Feb. 4th,  where a team of doctors ran many more tests. The diagnosis of Tumefactive MS was made, he was treated with steroids, and he was sent home with an appointment to see an MS/Autoimmune specialist 2 days later. When David saw the doctor, Feb. 14th, she sent him straight to Dell Seton emergency to be admitted.  After the doctors saw the results of an MRI taken on Feb. 11th, at St David's, they performed another MRI and decided to do a brain biopsy. Finally an answer, just not what we wanted to hear. David has an inoperable brain tumor in the cortex of the frontal lobe. It is a Primary Bcell CNS lymphoma. The good news is that it is classified stage 1 because it hasn't spread anywhere else.  Dave is undergoing chemotherapy now. He has completed the first round and goes back for the second round next week. Today he is a patient at the Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital. He has been in the hospital minus 2 days since Feb. 4th. When he goes back for chemo on March 13, he will be back at Dell Seton. David's spirit continues to amaze me. He always says, "God brought me to it, and I know He will get me through it." Denise is working at their shop and driving to Austin in the afternoons. They covet your prayers, which they depend on and can feel daily. So many people have asked how else they can help that I set up this page to provide one way. Although they have health insurance the expenses for treatment are staggering, and simple things like the gas back and forth everyday are mounting up. David is going to need a ramp at the house when he gets to come home.  He is also going to need an adjustable bed as well as potential other modifications at home.

Denise and David have given so much to so many that I convinced her to let me allow others to help them. They are humbled at the outpouring of love, prayers, and visits that they have already received.
We are continually amazed by what God does everyday. We are praying for His healing as He guides the doctors.
