My name is Doris Guzman and i am married to the most wonderful loving and caring man David Guzman for 35 years. We do not see our lives apart from each other. We have two wonderful amazing children named Alan and Melody who we love very much with all our heart. I also have a mother named Aida, who i also admire very much and take care of 24/7.
On the early morning of March 14, 2018 David woke up with a real bad cough, and we of course thought it was just a simple cold. We went to the ER and he was admitted with asmathic bronchitis. He had a hospital stay of one full week and after that he went home and went to work as usual.
Then after a couple days he started feeling belly pain which was extremly unbearable at times. He called his PCP and scheduled an appointment, the doctor ran some tests and all was normal except his white cell counts were a bit high. The doctor decided to order a CT scan of his belly to see whats going on. Of course i do not have that great of insurance and we had to wait two weeks before he would be able to get in for a CT scan. He was not able to take the pain another moment so we went directly to the ER once again to see if they could do the CT scan sooner, and indeed they did.
We waited it seemed forever for the results , and they were not as well as we had hoped. They were extremly devasting and unexpected. The doctor said im so sorry but.......horrible word Stage IV Cancer. I just couldnt function anymore and i just didnt want to believe what was happening. Unfortunately it was real and the love of my life has cancer. We started the first set of chemo in the hospital and were then discharged to go home. He then went and had his second treatement of chemo which at that time they found several blood clots in both legs and below his lungs. So we talked about it and said were going to beast this, God is in control and he is going to make it happen. David will need to get chemo every 2 weeks for 21 times. Its so horrible knowing the effects that this causes and all the moments that he will be in strong pain, and this kills me the most.
We are seeking alternative medicine also to help get David healed " not real right"? I believe that if we do everything possible he will overcome this horrible obstacle and be the man he was, healthy. I need to ask for some assistance since this treatment is a self pay cost treatment and we are not able to afford it. I am asking for love and assistance in this matter. David and I always live to help people in need and we never thought this day would come where we would be in this situation. Please pray he beats this, gets stronger and over comes this obstacle.
