David Chapman was a true American Hero. While serving bravely in Vietnam, David was sprayed with Agent Orange and although he battled the effects of the chemical on many levels for many years, including cancer and various respiratory illnesses, his primary fight was to support Wounded Combat Veterans.
David poured his heart and soul into Blues to Benefit the Brave to help wounded veterans transition to home life after serving bravely on the battle field.
For four years David, along with his friend Don Mercer, organized and ran "Blues to Benefit the Brave", a music festival held at Mercer Farm, just outside Machias WA. in a meadow named "Cedarhaven".
His selfless work touched the lives not only of veterans of all branches of the armed forces, but also of the music community. This festival brought in musicians from all around the Pacific Northwest and Canada to perform and raise money for this great cause.
