On our Dad's 61st Birthday (May 4, 2019), we received news of his stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis; a non-smoking lung adenocarcinoma that has metastasized (spread) to his spinal column.
As a father of six, a grandfather of five, and a loving husband of 37 years of marriage, our Dad has been the sole provider and back bone of our family. His healthy lifestyle, and positive disposition left us devastated when we received the news of his sudden diagnosis. If you know our dad, you can attest to his unparalleled work ethic and the unconditional love he gives to our family and friends.
We are undergoing countless doctors appointments to assess appropriate treatment plans; orders have been made to initiate chemotherapy and radiation along with scheduled follow ups to see a neurosurgeon in hopes of preventing spinal surgery.
We have set up this fund to pay for our father's medical bills, and to offset the costs of his need to withdraw from work while focusing on his treatment and medical appointments. The $75K we are setting as our goal only covers a fraction of the bills that are accruing, and we are hoping as a community we can go above and beyond to support our dad on this long road to recovery by exceeding our goal as much as possible.
