In June, we got the text that you never thought you would ever receive. “Please come over after work, Dad needs to tell you something, bring your wives. I can’t elaborate now; just get here straight after work.”
On June 20th, we found out that our Dad, Dave Trocano, had cancer.
I don’t think you truly prepare yourself to hear these words come from your dad’s mouth. “I’m really sick, and it’s hard for me to tell you guys, but the doctors found a large mass on my lungs… It’s cancer”.
After six specialized doctors’ visits, a multitude of scans, and blood test later, we finally have a diagnosis. Dad was diagnosed with “Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Lung Cancer”. As of now they consider this Stage 3 Lung Cancer. The cancer is in the lungs and the lymph nodes but, nowhere else. They doctors are hoping to shrink the tumor and remove it. We still have a long way to go.
Many of you, who know Dave, know that he is the hardest working man, and a fighter, we are going to get through this. So we are setting up a “Go Fund Me” account for my dad. With hospital bills pouring in and the first round of Chemo Therapy started, we are just scratching the surface with the cost associated with cancer treatment.
All the money raised will go to medical bills, and everyday bills for the home. We don’t want our Dad and Mom to have to worry about anything but getting better. We ask for your help in raising money for him during this difficult time. We also ask for your prayers and words of encouragement for the whole family.
