Doug Rankin Cancer Battle

I set this fundraiser up on behalf of a very special man and father, Doug Rankin. His daughter Mia Rankin has given me permission to do this. Mia has been friends with my daughter since 7th grade. It is the only way I know I can help. I need to help.
Doug is 63 years old and has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal cancer. It has spread to his liver and spine. He starts chemotherapy on 8/6/2018 after placement of a port . Doug is no longer able to work and unfortunately he has no health insurance. Doug is receiving his nutrition through a feeding tube, because he can no longer eat. The money will be used to help Doug with immediate expenses like prescriptions, chemotherapy treatment, all medical costs and personal needs during this battle. He was given a prescription for pain and it cost nearly $200. That is just for starters.
Doug is a graduate of St Joseph High School, in St. Joseph, MI. Doug has lived in the area all his life and has been a professional plumber for 43 years. He has given a lot of himself to this community. Let's come together and give back to Doug.
This situation is very urgent. The chemotherapy is going to be very hard on Doug. He will need rest and comfort. All funds collected are going directly into an account that Doug will be able to access. No amount is too small. Please help if you can.
