At 3 years old my daughter Audrina was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. A rare childhood cancer.
She has now began chemotherapy which has resulted in her hair falling out.
Me, my Mum and sister Sarah have decided to shave all our hair off to support Audrina through this difficult time and to raise money for the ward she stays on at the Queens Medical Centre hospital in Nottingham, and for Niamhs Next Step charity which raises money for research to improve treatment for high risk neuroblastoma patients and increase their chances of survival.
2 out of every 3 children that have neuroblastoma are high risk and only 20-40% of these children survive. New treatments are required urgently to help improve survival rates and save childrens lives.
Niamhs Next Step raise money for research to help discover better treatment for high risk neuroblastoma. This is why we need your money to help this cause and find new medical treatment to reduce the number of children dying from this horrible disease.
In addition to this I am raising money for the ward that has been caring for Audrina. I want to be able to give the children and families something special, something to look forward to. Depending on how much we raise will depend on what this is. But hopefully we can get enough to take all the children and families on a day out or maybe a short weekend away somewhere.
The children and families on this ward go through hell. Some children have surgery every week, they cant eat, sleep, they constantly feel sick and some spend months and months in hospital.
So please help out and donate whatever you can! I am going to shave my head!
