Home Makeover for My Disabled Dad

My Dad and Mom need a new house. My Dad has been restrained to a wheelchair for nearly a decade. Through the years his health has gotten worse, and their current home has become more difficult for them to remain in. Currently, my Dad only has access to two rooms. He cannot even use his own restroom. He can access only the shower in their current bathroom, but is is very hard for him to get in and out of. This makes things very difficult for my Mom. On top of all that, their house has fallen into disrepair: electrical problems, plumbing problems, structural problems, heating/cooling problems, etc. It is an overwhelming crisis. It is a crisis that my parents do not have the money or manpower to overcome.
Last year, after my Grannie passed away, she left her home to my Mom. This home is right next door to where my parents currently live. It, too, needs major repair work. Fortunately, since it is vacant, we can go in and repair everything without disrupting the life of my Dad which needs regularity to maintain his health. However, this a HUGE undertaking. It is literally like the show Extreme Home Makeover!!

We started the project with limited funds, but knew that we had to get started. My Dad draws a small disability check, and my Mom lost her job of over 40 years recently due to permanent injury to her arm. She gets a small amout of Worker's Comp. They are on a tight and fixed income! But we continue to believe that God is going to help us finish this project somehow, some way. We have had some individuals step up and help us with labor, but we still need more!! And we cannot finish the project without the money to get what we need. We are wanting to get the home finished and ready to live by the Fall of this year. Here is what the renovations include:
- New handicap accessible bathroom and shower
- New floors and floor covering throughout
- 3 ramps
- New Plumbing
- New electrical
- New windows
- Insulation
- New celings
- New walls throughout
- New roomier kitchen accessible to wheelchair
- Some new Kitchen appliances
- Wide doorways
- Repaired walls and structural issues

Please help us out any way you can!! We will keep you updated on the progress as we go along!!
