Daniel James Moya Died suddenly on November 2nd 2018 at his home in Buckeye Az.

At the young age of 18 and full of life, Daniel was eager to carry on his passion filled journey by joining the the Army reserves after graduating high school. He officially enlisted in February of 2008. Life was exciting and full of opportunities.

He excelled in different areas like chemical ops and Nodal network systems while being active.

In December 2011 he sustained a back injury while serving in the Army that altered his course and took his life in a different direction that he never would’ve imagined.

The severe pain he dealt with daily was only treated by doctors by masking it with prescriptions. Over time his limitations were so discouraging that depression set in and with that more medications. He was caught up in a vicious cycle that drained his hope.

He continued his service for as long as he could but eventually ended his service with the Army reserves in February 2016 as an E5 sergeant. Work was difficult to maintain simply because he couldn’t physically perform. Times were hard for his parents but they still allowed Daniel to live with them.

Although Daniel received a small disability check from the VA, he wanted more from life. His passion was to be an EMT. With his veteran benefits he sought the schooling necessary but his dream was dampened by the pain and vicious cycle he was owned by.

Finally he saw a new doctor that gave him the hope of regaining his passion filled life once again. On October 31st 2018, this doctor told Daniel that he could fix his back and he wouldn’t need to rely on pain medications anymore.

Thrilled to hear this he told his mother the good news. She saw her son more hopeful than she had in years. Daniel expressed how he didn’t want to take more pills and wanted to be free from the bondage he was under with them.

Unfortunately that hope was cut short and the years of using the medications had caught up with his body and he passed just 2 days  later.
